OUR MISSION
To prevent, detect and disrupt money laundering and other serious crimes through appropriate regulation and development of financial intelligence.
The FIU’s mission reflects the two key approaches to meeting our stated vision. The FIU will:
- Prevent money laundering and other serious crimes in the financial sector through appropriate regulation based on a clear understanding of serious crime threats and vulnerabilities; and
- Detect and disrupt money laundering and other serious crimes in the financial sector by developing financial intelligence for law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute these illegal activities.
