On 11 November 2025, the Fiji Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) joined partner agencies in signing a Memorandum of Understanding under the Tax Crimes Taskforce, marking a major step in coordinated action against tax evasion and financial misconduct in Fiji.

The Taskforce comprises of the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Immigration, Fiji Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS), Land Transport Authority, Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption, Fiji Police Force, Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the FIU. The FIU is committed to strengthening efforts to detect and disrupt tax evasion and financial crimes to ensure financial integrity in Fiji.

The signing of the MOU is timely, as Fiji prepares for its upcoming mutual evaluation and increases efforts to address key threats, particularly those related to serious tax evasion and financial crimes.
